Replacing Animal Research is delighted to announce the appointment of Catriona Sinclair as Fundraising Manager.

With nine years’ experience in the fundraising sector, Catriona joins Replacing Animal Research from Breast Cancer Now, where she was Prospect Research and Insight Manager, responsible for setting up a research and insight function within the philanthropy and corporate teams at the charity. Prior to this, Catriona was Individual Giving Manager for the Royal Institution of Great Britain.

Catriona has a BSc in Psychology and Zoology and an MSc in Neuropsychology from the University of Bristol.

At Replacing Animal Research, Catriona will be responsible for generating income for charitable activities and keeping in regular contact with the charity’s donors and supporters, as well as connecting individuals and businesses with Replacing Animal Research’s work.

Commenting on her appointment, Catriona says: “I was attracted to the role at Replacing Animal Research as it provides the opportunity to make a real difference to both human and animal lives. By researching and campaigning for more effective, human-based medical research techniques, Replacing Animal Research works to replace, reduce and refine the use of animals and improve standards of animal welfare.

“Replacing Animal Research’s values – brave, resourceful, collaborative, thoughtful and supportive – also struck a chord with me, as I believe that it is only through working in partnership and developing and nurturing stakeholder relationships that we can work towards sustainable outcomes and achieve real, long-lasting change.”

“Catriona brings genuine enthusiasm and care for Replacing Animal Research’s cause as well as a strong scientific background, enabling her to communicate our research clearly and concisely to a wide range of audiences. She joins Replacing Animal Research at an exciting time as we seek to take the charity to the next level by raising our profile, increasing support and sharing our expertise and knowledge of alternatives to laboratory animals with industry and academia on a wider scale, to push for much needed changes in policy and practice.”
