Replacing Animal Research Hero

Dr Rita Seabra

I joined Replacing Animal Research in 2008 as a Scientific Officer and am now the Technical Editor for our scientific journal ATLA. Before joining the team, I studied biology at the University of Glamorgan and then completed my PhD at the University of Nottingham.

In addition to scientific accuracy, I make sure that the information in our papers is presented as clearly and elegantly as possible. As many of our authors and audience are not native English speakers, we help them communicate their findings and disseminate the Three Rs to a wide audience.

I enjoy the diversity of topics and tasks I’m involved in, plus, I work with kind and competent people, which makes everything easier!

I believe anyone can make a positive contribution. I think we are helping to make the world a better place for people and animals.
