Kathryn joined the Board of Trustees for Replacing Animal Research in October 2025.  She has over two decades of leadership experience in high-growth, high-stakes sectors, specialising in Space, Cyber Security and Defence.  Most recently, she held a key operational role on the board, which built and scaled In-Space Missions Ltd, leading to a successful acquisition by BAE Systems Plc.  She has held technical and programmatic leadership positions in BAE Systems, Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd and other companies now forming part of Airbus UK.

She holds a PhD in Astrodynamics, an MSc in Spacecraft Engineering, and graduated from the University of Cambridge with an MA in Astrophysics, where she worked on the University Women’s Executive.

Kathryn has been a vegan for over 27 years and has been interested in animal rights since she was a child.  She is passionate about reducing the use of animals in scientific research and is extremely keen to support the charity in working towards a future where no animal suffers for science.
